Qutub Minar-Gurgaon metro rail link

The metro rail link from Qutub Minar to Gurgaon is expected to be operational before the Commonwealth Games next year with the government approving transfer of a stretch of defence land to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). By virtue of the transfer of land, the nation will have a metro rail system network from Qutub Minar to Gurgaon before the Commonwealth Games.
Noting that there is heavy traffic congestion on this route, the people of Delhi, Haryana and the National Capital Region would benefit from the project.
DMRC has been considering this route for "quite some time" and has already started the preliminary stages of work. The metro link route was earlier facing problems with the Archaeological Survey of India, which has now been sorted out.
